Readers have requested a review of Core i7 SKUs from the latest XPS 15 9570. Expect our full take on the system and how to compare it with Core i5 SKU next week! Meanwhile, our page in the Core i9 SKU should come next month.
Dell XPS 15 laptops are often seen as a Windows alternative to the spazzy Apple MacBook Pro 15 for good reasons. Despite using a three-year chassis, it can be argued that competing OEMs have not launched a Windows laptop that balances rigidity, design and overall impression and Dell's flagship XPS series.
Our first appearance on the basic Core i5 configuration of the XPS 15 9570 revealed the excellent CPU and GPU performance damaged by driver problems associated with the GTX 1050 GPU. The heat temperature both inside and outside unfortunately has not increased over the last generation XPS 15 9560. Now that we finally test the Core i7-8750H configuration, we can compare how the same chassis can last when equipped with a faster CPU. . Will Core i7 SKU be tighter to keep the temperature checked? Did Dell finally overcome all the driver's concerns for the full four months after the initial launch? Of course, we will share our experience before the end of the month when our testing is complete.
For Core i9 SKUs, we hope to have units in the coming weeks with our results published around October. According to Dell, there will be some upcoming performance tweaks specifically for the Core i9 SKU that we want to test and show in our analysis.
